The Nutcracker Story

Nutcrackers

The Nutcracker ballet was initially presented in 1892. It was choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, while Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky wrote the heart-stirring score.

While the ballet performance wasn't initially successful, Tchaikovsky's score became famous.

The story behind the ballet is based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Clara and her Nutcracker doll work to transform their dark winter into a joyful Candyland. The resonating theme of the ballet reminds viewers that good overcomes evil.

During the performance, guests will be enchanted by their favorite characters, such as the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Toy Soldiers.

The story begins on Christmas Eve and revolves around a young girl, Clara, who sneaks downstairs to play with her favorite toy, a nutcracker.

Clara is whisked away on an adventure by a mysterious magician. Clara must defeat the evil Mouse King before traveling to the Land of Snow in the Kingdom of Sweets. Finally, Clara will meet the enduring favorite, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and dance the night away.

While the ballet wasn't received well in 1892, today, it is the most frequently performed ballet of all time.
