As you might imagine, with a location near Hollywood and LA, there's no shortage of famous people from Anaheim, CA. Athletes of every stripe, TV and movie actors, TikTok and Instagram stars, and even inventors have called the area home. Here's a look at five of them.

1. Milo Ventimiglia‍

Ventimiglia is an actor, director, and producer. He has starred in several independent films, but his best-known TV roles were Jess on Gilmore Girls and Peter on Heroes. He's also had roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saved by the Bell, Boston Public, Law & Order: SVU, and This is Us.

He was born on July 8, 1977, in Anaheim. He went to El Modena High in Orange and then UCLA, majoring in theater.

2. Marcus Mumford‍

Born in 1987, Marcus Mumford is a British-American singer/songwriter famous as the lead singer for Mumford & Sons. Their breakout hit in "I Will Wait" premiered in England in 2012. The Babel was one of the fastest-selling albums of that year, selling over 600,000 copies in its first week.

Mumford was born to a British family in nearby Yorba Linda. Mumford & Sons is a British folk-rock band, and Mumford is married to British actress Carey Mulligan.

3. Gwen Stefani and No Doubt‍

No Doubt's breakthrough 1995 album Tragic Kingdom and their hit single "Don't Speak" were Stefani's early claims to fame. She was born in 1969 in Fullerton, but the band formed during her time in Anaheim.

She's a three-time Grammy winner and has received the American Music Award, World Music Award, and two Billboard Music Awards. VH1 once ranked Stefani as number 13 of the "100 Greatest Women in Music."

Stefani is known for other ventures as well, including the LAMB fashion line introduced in 2004. She also is a star of the TV's The Voice.

4. Leo Fender‍

It isn't just the music makers that come from Anaheim--the people who make the instruments do too! Clarence Leonidas Fender, the inventor of the famous Fender electric guitar, is a local too!

The 1950 Fender Telecaster was the first mass-produced solid-body electric guitar. It was followed by the iconic Stratocaster a few years later. The company also makes amplifiers and electric basses.

Fender was born in 1909. His family owned an orange grove located between Anaheim and Fullerton. While he made his name making legendary musical instruments, he never learned to play one himself.

5. Lonzo Ball‍

The now-famous basketball player went to Chino Hills High and graduated in 2016. He was awarded multiple honors and played for UCLA.

Ball is currently a point guard for the Chicago Bulls. He began in the NBA as a rookie with the LA Lakers and then worked with the New Orleans Pelicans.

He comes from a family of basketball superstars. Both his parents, LaVar and Tina, played in college. His brothers, LiAngelo and LaMelo, play for the NBA.
