If you are flying into Southern California for a Disneyland vacation, you have a few airport options. Of course, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the largest and most well-known airport. However, several smaller airports offer excellent service, small-size convenience, and fewer traffic hassles.

Disneyland Airport Options

Airplane departing

Disneyland is near LA and Hollywood in Anaheim. The closest airport is the John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA), which is about 14 miles from Disneyland. The most popular airport is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which is 35 miles away. Other choices include Long Beach Airport (LGB), which is 19 miles away, and Ontario International Airport (ONT), which is 35 miles away.

John Wayne Airport (SNA)

John Wayne Airport is the closest airport to Disneyland. This airport is easy to navigate, and its flights arrive and depart from one building split into two terminals.

Because John Wayne Airport is the closest airport to Disneyland, you'll have a short trip to your hotel. It's only about 20 minutes from John Wayne Airport to Disneyland. Several major airlines use the airport, including American, Delta, Southwest, and United.

Because it's a smaller airport, flights might be more expensive. If you are flying from a smaller city, you may need more connecting flights to reach John Wayne Airport. John Wayne probably isn't an option if you are flying internationally.

If you can fly into John Wayne Airport, its small size and convenient location make it the best airport for Disneyland.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Los Angeles International Airport is the biggest airport in the area. It will be easy to book your LAX flight. However, it's harder to navigate this large airport. After all, it's the fifth-biggest airport in the world! LAX is about 35 miles away from Disneyland and between 45 minutes to 2 hours away. Traffic in the area can be bad, so make sure you allow extra travel time.

All major and regional airlines fly into LAX. LAX is a great option if you are flying internationally or you are looking for the best price. It might also be your best option if you fly from a small airport that doesn't offer flights to John Wayne Airport.

Long Beach Airport (LGB)

Long Beach Airport is very small. It's about 19 miles from Disneyland and is served by Delta, JetBlue, and US Airways. Because it's a small airport with limited airline service, it might be harder and more expensive to get a flight here. However, if you can fly into Long Beach, you'll find it an easy and straightforward experience.

Ontario International Airport (ONT)
